Bullhead City - Colorado River Regatta
August 16, 2008
The Event was reported to have had somewhere between 2 - 3 thousand entries and the report looked to be pretty accurate. The Event included kayaks and canoes as well as floats and tubers. The Event started at the Riverside Launch Area at 0800 with the kayaks and canoes and tubers following. This part was scheduled to be complete by 0900.

The down river Community Park Launch Area was a Major Launch Area with a lot of floats as well as tubers. They were scheduled to launch at 0900. The route down river to Rotary Park was approx. "9 miles" so a long way for the participants.

The floats had a lot of work put into them and there were many "tube-floats" of every discription.

The Sun was "Hot", the tubers and floats have almost no control and are at the mercy of the current and the participants get really tired, so it is important that everyone in the event be kept in a controlled environment all the way to the finish.
